Melissa Opolski

Melissa is a registered Health Psychologist in private practice and PhD candidate in the Schools of Psychology and Medicine at the University of Adelaide.

Her clinical and research interests focus on interactions between physical and mental health in areas including obesity, bariatric surgery, chronic and acute health conditions, blood, organ, and tissue donation, addictions, and health behaviour change. Her current PhD research is focused on the eating-related expectations, experiences, and behaviours of individuals who undergo bariatric surgery.

Melissa has previously worked on research in the Discipline of General Practice, University of Adelaide, taught in the University of Adelaide Counselling and Psychotherapy program, and has taught mental health and communication skills to GPs, registrars, and allied health professionals in SA and interstate.
